Having been a member of PIRA for almost 18 years, David Haley is running for the presidential cycle of PIRA to help further the goals of the Association. David initially gained insight into the Executive Board by serving as the Secretary from 2004-06. He is currently serving on the Constitution committee. He has been active in PIRA at both the national and local levels, gaining significant knowledge and experience from many sources including TAP-L, attending bi-annual local technician meetings, and national AAPT meetings etc. David is also fully active in a NSF funded physics lending library and local outreach which allows him to share this knowledge outside of campus. David Haley holds a BS in physics from Kansas State University, where he first worked for Roger Key in the field of lecture demonstrations and laboratories as a student employee. His most recent position is at a small liberal arts school, Pomona College in Claremont CA , where he has worked as the Senior Lab Technician since 2001. He held a similar position at New Mexico State University from 1994-2001. The Pomona College Department of Physics and Astronomy supports David in committing to this position for the 4 years of the presidential cycle. David Haley respectfully asks for your support and assures you that he will buy you a beer... or something.
